ALEXANDER, Mrs – drowned in accident to GREIG’s coach.  (SMH 13 June 1863)

ALLEN - Birth – On the 23rd May, at Forbes, Mrs E H E Allen, of a son.   (Empire, Sydney, Wednesday 17 June 1868) (Also SMH 17 June 1868)

ALLEN - Marriage:  On the 7th instant, at Montefiores, Wellington, by the Rev W Coombes, Edward H E Allen, Esq, to Frances Octavia, youngest daughter of David A Mackaen, LL D, of Sydney.  No cards.  (SMH 15 November 1865)

ARMSTRONG – Birth.  August 10th, at her residence, Lachlan-street, Forbes, the wife of John F. Armstrong, of a son. (SMH 20 August 1864)

ASHENHEIM - Deaths: On the 12th instant, at his residence, Woodbine Cottage, Dubbo, in his 39th year, after a long and protracted illness of five months, Charles Ashenheim, M.D. late of Forbes, and youngest son of the late Jacob Ashenheim, George-street, Edinburgh, Scotland, deeply regretted by a large circle of friends.  Home papers please copy.  (SMH  27 August 1866)

ATKINS - Birth.  On the 15th July, at her sisters residence, Campbell-street, Surry Hills, the wife of Mr. H. Atkins, postmaster, Forbes, of a daughter. (Empire, Sydney, Thursday 21 July 1864)

ATKINS - BIRTHS: On tho 19th ultimo, at her residence, Templar-Street, Forbes, the wife of Mr. H. Atkyns, of a son, who only survived a few hours. (SMH 8 May 1863)

BOLAND - BIRTH: At her residence, Bald Hill, Lachlan River, Mrs. Thomas Boland, Junior, of a son. (SMH Friday 26 November 1852)

BOWLER – Birth. On Sunday, the 19th ultimo, at Gumbidgewa, Lachlan River, the wife of A C R Bowler, Esq., of a daughter.   (SMH 3 June 1861)

BRAY - Birth – April 3rd, at her temporary residence, Orange, the wife of Mrs Edmond Bray, Great Eastern Hotel, Lachlan-street, Forbes of a son. (SMH 21 April 1866)

BRAY - deaths:  July 21st at her residence, Forbes, Lachlan, Mrs Mary Bray, the beloved wife of Mr Edmond Bray, after a long and painful illness, aged 24 years.   (SMH 23 August 1866)

BROWNRIGG - SHAPCOTE. – Marriage. On Saturday, October 11th, at St Matthew's Church, Albury, by the Rev. S. Fox, incumbent of Tumut, the Rev. Marcus Blake Brownrigg, incumbent of Forbes, Lachlan district, to Georgiana Eliza, second daughter of the late Captain Shapcote, R.N. (Empire, Sydney, Thursday 23 October 1862)

CAMERON – Death September 2, at Forbes, aged 28, in childbed, Margaret, the beloved wife of Alexander Campbell Cameron, leaving a husband and four young children to lament their untimely loss.   (Empire, Sydney, Tuesday 11 September 1866) (Also SMH 10 September 1866)

CHISHOLM – Death. Sep 18, at Forbes, Mr William Chisholm, aged 45 years.   (Illustrated Sydney News, Saturday 15 October 1864) (Also SMH 21 October 1864)

COHEN – Death – On the 26th November, at Forbes, Mrs Dinah Cohen, aged 30 (?), the beloved wife of the late Lazarus Cohen, late of Goulburn, leaving four young children to deplore their loss.  (Empire, Sydney, 1 December 1863) (Also SMH 30 November 1863)

COHEN – Death. On the 30th April last, found drowned in the River Lachlan. Mr. Lazarus Cohen, of the Commercial Hotel, Forbes, leaving a widow and four children to deplore their loss.  He was much respected by all who know him.  (Empire, Sydney, Thursday 1 May 1863)

COLYER.  Birth – On the 22nd February, at her residence, Forbes, the wife of Henry Cox Colyer, solicitor, of a daughter.  (Empire, Sydney, Tuesday 3 March 1868) (Also SMH 2 March 1868)

COMBES – Death – On the 29th April, near Forbes, on the Lachlan River, Mary Frances, the infant daughter of Edward Combes, Esq, aged seven months.   (Empire, Sydney, 9 May 1863) (SMH 8 May 1863)

CREED - Marriage:  On the 1st instant, at the residence of the bride's parents, by the father of the bridegroom, Charles Robert, only son of the late Charles Creed, Wesleyan minister, Redfern, Sydney to Marian Fynney, only daughter of Mr David Jarvis, Forbes.   (SMH 10 September 1869) (Also SMH 8 October 1869)

CROPPER – Birth.  On the 22nd instant, at Yamma, near Forbes, the wife of Charles Cropper, Esq of a daughter. (SMH 27 May 1865)

CROWTHER – Death. On the 14th ultimo, at Forbes, Lachlan, NSW, George Rowland Crowther, aged 35, the second son of the late Rowland Crowther, Esq, woollen merchant and manufacturer, Hill, neat Huddersfield, Yorkshire, England.  (The Argus, Melbourne, 28 June 1862)

DIXSON - Birth: On Saturday 11th instant, at Oronoko, near Forbes, Mrs Robert Dixson, of a son. (SMH 15 November 1865)

EADES – Death.  On the 14th instant, at Forbes, Richard, eldest son of Richard EADES, late of Gladstonbury, Somersetshire, England.   (SMH 29 December 1868)

FARADAY.  Death.  On the 23rd ult., at his late residence, Richmond Hotel, Caledonia-road, Forbes, Lachlan, New South Wales, Mr. W. Faraday, aged forty-one years, son of Mr. Charles Faraday, Birmingham, England. English papers please copy. (The Melbourne Argus, 25 October 1862)

FENN - Forbes - Mrs Fenn, of Wowingragong, a very old resident on the Lachlan, died yesterday. (SMH 19 April 1866)

FENN - April 17th, in Orange, after a short and painful illness, which she bore with Christian fortitude, Catherine, wife of William Fenn, of Wowingragong, Lachlan River, leaving a large family and circle of sorrowing friends to lament their loss, aged 45 years. GILBERT - DEATHS: June 7th, of croup, at the residence of her parents, Forbes, Lachlan, Amy Louisa, the beloved child of Edward Thornton and Jane Gilbert, aged seven years.  (SMH  21 July 1863) 

GOLDSMIDE - On the 18th instant, at the Jewish Synagogue Chambers, Macquarie-street by the Rev Mr Phillips, R A Goldsmide, stationer, of Forbes, Lachlan gold-fields, to Henrietta Morris, youngest daughter of H Morris, watchmaker and optician, of Gawler-place, Adelaide, South Australia. GOVERS.  Birth.  On the 18th instant, at her residence, Forbes, the wife of Mr W Govers, of a daughter – premature birth.  (SMH 22 Dec 1869)

GREEN-September 11th, at her residence, Uar, Lachlan River Mrs. John Green, of a son. (SMH 21 October 1861)

GRENFELL – Birth – On the 12th November, at the Commissioner’s Quarters, Forbes, Lachlan River, Mrs S J Grenfell, of a daughter.   (Empire, Tuesday 1 December 1863) (Also SMH 30 November 1863)

GREVILLE - WOODD. Marriage.  On the 28th September at Forbes, by the Rev Joseph Barnier, George Agernon Greville, Manager Australian Joint Stock Bank, Forbes, to Mary Catherine, second daughter of the Rev G N Woodd, Incumbent of St Mary’s, Denham Court.   (Empire, Sydney, Tuesday 8 October 1867) (Also SMH 7 October 1867)

GREVILLE – Death.  On the 15th instant, at Forbes, George Algernon, only son of G A Greville, Esq. aged  6 months.  (SMH 23 December 1968)

HARPER.  Death.  On the 18th instant, at Forbes, by a fall from his buggy, Mr. Henry Harper, ,of Upper William-street, Woolloomooloo, aged 47 years. (SMH 22 November 1862)

HARTMANN – PRINGLE Marriage. On the 3rd January, by special licence, by the Rev M B Brownrigg, at St Paul’s, Forbes, Carl Heinrich Hartmann, to Georgina Pringle, eldest daughter of Captain Thomas Pringle.   (Empire, Sydney,  10 January 1863)

HAYWARD – Death.   At Wongajong, near Forbes, Sophia, the beloved wife of James Finnis, and widow of the late Alderman George Hayward, of the city of Melbourne. (Melbourne Argus, 6 October 1868) (N.B. Although this notice is in the Argus as Hayward, the death registration is shown as Finnis.)

HIBBERSON - Death:  On the 16th instant, at Droubalgie Station, near Forbes, James Hibberson, after a long illness, aged 59 years.  (SMH 20 January 1869)

HORSLEY, On Saturday January 10th, of low fever, at Forbes, George Augustus Horsley, third son of the late Captain Horsley, of the Guards, aged 34 years.  (SMH 13 January 1863)

SEABORN.- Death. On the 7th December, at Forbes, of typhoid fever, Mary Anne Seaborn, aged 19 years, the eldest surviving daughter of the Rev. H. S. Seaborn, Presbyterian minister, Braidwood. Home papers please copy.  (Empire, Sydney, Wednesday 9 December 1863)

THORNE, Emily, died at Forbes on 10 December 1862, aged 18 months, after a lingering illness, only daughter of Alfred and Margaret.  (The Sydney Mail, 20 December 1862) (Also SMH 18 December 1862)

VANDENBERG - ISAACS - Marriages: On the 5th instant, at the residence of Mr John Isaacs, 597, George-street South, by the Rev Alexander B Davis, Levy Vandenberg, of Forbes, to Phoebe, daughter of Leon Isaacs, of this city.   (SMH 7 July 1868)

WHITE: Death: At Wowingragong, Lachlan River, December 16th, by a severe fall from his horse, in the seventeenth year of his age, Robert, only son of the late Robert White, of Wowingragong, leaving a bereaved mother, four sisters, and a large circle of relatives and friends to mourn their loss. (SMH 21 January 1857)

WILLOUGHBY – Death. On the 13th April, at Forbes, James Lees Willoughby, Esq, solicitor, aged 45 years.   (Empire, Sydney, Saturday 18 April 1863)

WILSON – O’CONNOR.  Marriage.  On 31st May, at Forbes, Lachlan district, by the Rev. Mr. Murphy, Catholic minister, Mr. Thomas Wilson, Irish vocalist, of Melbourne, to Mary O'Connor, of Sydney, New South Wales.    (SMH 29 July 1862)  (N.B. There is no marriage for Thomas Wilson and Mary O’Connor on the BDM Index registered at Forbes.  The only marriage of a Thomas to a Mary at Forbes in 1862 is Thomas Collings to Mary Chappell.)
