Syr Jenkyn Jones, Knight, was born circa ____ and was engaged in several of the Continental Wars in his early life. He was afterward employed on secret missions between ye Courts of England, France and Spain as appeareth manifest from ancient M S S of ye period.
On his finally settling upon his paternal Estate in ye County of Anglesea he was made one of ye Presidt or Wardens in .... of Marches of Wales which had been abolished in ye time of King Henry VIII, but afterwards established for some years in ye latter time of Queen Elizabeth nigh for the purpose of further defining ye boundaries of ye country and for ye jurisdiction of ye magistrates and ?laird? officers of ye Bishopricks and Country.
Syr Jenkyn hath been esteemed a most valiant and courteous Knight and married temp Queen Elizabeth circa ____ Judith Salisbury descended of a branch of ye antt family of ye Salisburies of Lleweni in Denbiland by whom he had three children. His Will birth date MDCXIII (1613) and he died in ye month of November MDCXIX (1619) and was buried in the vaults of Cathedral Church of Ste Daniel Bangor.

Ye arms of Syr Jenkyn were
quartered 1st and 4th sa: a stag trippanting hornd ~~~~~ hoofed or being ye Ensign of ye great chieftain Hedd Molwynog
quartering 2nd the arms of Gwyllym ap Jenkyn, Lord of Gwarindee
and 3rd Powis of Powisland
and his crest upon his Knightly ?Haulm? a stag as in ye arms.


Some of his antecedents are mentioned in the Birth Book:
Herbert Compte of Hermandoise, who came to England in the retinue of William the Conqueror and whose son Herbert Fitz-Herbert was Chamberlain to Henry I and who married Lucia, daughter of Sir Robert Corbet, Lord of Alcester County Warwick and from this marriage descended Jenkyn Gwyllym Lord of Gwarindee, married Gwenlion, daughter of Howell Tehon, temp Howell of Treown.
Thomas-John married Anne, daughter of David ap Gwyllym Morgan. They had a son Grwffyd, temp Henry VIII, whose daughter Anne Morgan married Hugh Jones, alias Lwyd of Bodnyddr County Anglesea, Esq. Their marriage produced Sir Jenkyn.
